The Role
As a Healthcare Assistant, you will provide essential care and support to individuals within healthcare and social care environments, ensuring their needs are met with compassion and respect.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide personalised care and support based on individual needs.
- Assist with personal care, including washing, dressing, and hygiene routines.
- Support mobility, nutrition, hydration, and daily living activities.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to service users.
- Follow care plans and contribute to positive outcomes.
- Observe and report changes in health and wellbeing.
- Maintain accurate care records and daily documentation.
- Support safe moving and handling practices.
- Assist with medication support where appropriate and trained.
- Work collaboratively with nurses, carers, and wider healthcare professionals.
- Promote safeguarding, dignity, independence, and person-centred care at all times.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 6 months’ UK experience within a healthcare or social care setting.
- Previous experience within care homes, hospitals, supported living, or community care is desirable.
- Experience with manual handling.
- Experience providing personal care support.
- Valid Enhanced DBS.
- Professional references covering the last 3 years of employment.
- Excellent communication skills and a caring approach.
- Reliable, flexible, and committed to delivering high standards of care.
- Right to work in the UK.
